Some days in racing go beyond the shop and the track — they become experiences that fuel inspiration, learning, and appreciation for the sport we love. This morning was one of those memorable days for Conley Racing.
Riley Wins Polen Designs Custom Helmet Paint Job at US 24 Speedway
This helmet pickup wasn’t just another stop on the calendar — it was the result of a truly special moment for Riley.
Last season, Riley had the honor of winning the very first custom helmet paint job Grass Roots Giveback from Austin at Polen Designs, presented at US 24 Speedway. Winning that opportunity was exciting enough, but knowing it was the first-ever custom helmet paint job Austin awarded at US 24 Speedway made it even more meaningful.
For Riley, this wasn’t just about having his name drawn from the helmet of over 135 entrants — it was about winning something unique that represents his hard work, dedication, and passion for racing that was not on in our budget to spend money on. Moments like these are the kind that Riley will remember for years to come and will be a piece of his racing memorabilia he will proudly display long after he outgrows the helmet.
We are incredibly thankful to Austin at Polen Designs for making this experience possible and for supporting young racers in such a memorable way.
Helmet Pickup Day at Polen Designs
The day started with an exciting stop at Polen Designs, where Riley and Dylan picked up their freshly completed helmets. Austin was kind enough to put some personal touches on Dylan's helmet during the off season. There’s something special about seeing your gear come to life — especially when it represents not just your race program, but the people and partners who support the journey.
Watching the boys hold their helmets for the first time was a proud moment. A helmet isn’t just safety equipment — it’s confidence, identity, and protection all rolled into one. Austin had full creative freedom with the boys' helmets and no sneak peaks were given to Mom & Dad. Seeing the designs in person reminded us just how important it is to work with professionals who understand both safety and style in motorsports.
The creativity, attention to detail, and care that went into these helmets truly shows, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work with such a talented professional who was able to capture the essence of who are boys are.
A Stop That Turned Into an Experience
Kersting Cycle Center Harley-Davidson Dealership & Motorcycle Museum
After picking up the helmets, the day continued with an unforgettable visit to Kersting Cycle Center Harley-Davidson, where the boys got to explore not only the dealership but also the incredible Motorcycle Museum. The contents of the museum is all one man’s collection, Jim Kersting and all the bikes run!
Walking through the museum was like stepping back in time. The collection showcased the evolution of motorcycles, engineering, and design — something that speaks directly to the mechanical curiosity both Riley and Dylan have developed through racing.
From vintage motorcycles to modern machines, every display told a story of innovation, speed, and craftsmanship. For young racers who spend countless hours in the shop learning about engines, setups, and performance, this visit was more than just sightseeing — it was education and inspiration.
Learning Beyond the Track
Experiences like this are what make racing so much more than competition. It’s about learning from history, appreciating craftsmanship, and understanding the roots of motorsports.
Riley and Dylan were especially fascinated by the engineering details and the progression of motorcycle technology over the years. Moments like these reinforce why we believe so strongly in hands-on learning — turning wrenches, asking questions, and soaking up knowledge whenever possible.
Grateful for the Opportunity
We’re thankful for the opportunity to spend the day surrounded by motorsports history and craftsmanship. From winning a one-of-a-kind helmet opportunity to picking up race-ready gear and touring one of the most impressive motorcycle museums around, it was a day full of inspiration and appreciation for the sport that continues to shape these boys into hardworking young men.
Days like this remind us that racing isn’t just about laps — it’s about relationships, learning, and building a future rooted in passion and perseverance.
Stay tuned — those new helmets will be hitting the track soon, and we can’t wait to see them in action! 🏁🔥
